Challenge
Sophie Cooper, a Manchester jam entrepreneur, needed branding for soap made from repurposed fruit rinds and oils. The target audience were design-aware creatives who value craftsmanship and discover brands through Instagram. They use bath time to unwind. Beyond sustainability, Sophie wanted the soaps to provide an experience. Those guilt-free moments crucial to mental wellbeing. How can we turn a humble bar of soap into something that creates that space for unwinding, breathing out, dreaming?

Solution
Handcrafted soap for entering a liminal space, where the ordinary dissolves into the ethereal. The concept came from what happens after rubbing. You unwind, breathe out, enter something contemplative. The act is physical, but it leads somewhere ethereal. The naming explored honest, cheeky, homely territory. 'Rubbed' landed because it's direct, physical, and holds the right tone
